Wedding: Hair up or down... confused?

Ok. My wedding is 29 days away. I cannot decide if I want my hair up, down or 1/2 and 1/2... My dress is strapless and I'm not wearing a veil. What would you suggest?Wedding: Hair up or down... confused?
Wear your hair up, if you usually wear it up. Your wedding is a day about you and your husband, no one else. Let your hair reflect your personality, and just, you. So if you tend to let it loose, wear it down.Wedding: Hair up or down... confused?
Definitely NOT up. Down or half up/half down. Your chest and shoulders will look too bare wearing a strapless dress and no veil. Also, think about the wedding photos. Sure updos look amazing from the back, but from the front it makes the face look too severe. Either have your hair down and loosely curled, or if you feel that looks too plain, have a nice little design with half of your hair and have the rest down.
i say you go with maybe something like this

i think you should have your hair in a bun. so that would mean that you should have your hair up instead of down.
up

1/2 and 1/2 for sure thats always beautiful
Not wearing a veil? DOWN
Put it partially up, with some strands hanging down.
Do it in a bun with loose bits of hair hanging down the side curled.

Have a nice wedding :D
I think you should leave it down and maybe curl it?

and your dress is gorgeous by the way!

And I'm also getting married and I am having my wedding designer make me the same dress exactly to a tee. With the little flowers and every little detail. It will look like I'm wearing the dress from the movie itself!

    Cute, new wedding hair style?

I am a 21 year old bride. I want a cute hair style, something kind of ';new'; age.

I have straight brown hair, 3 inches past my shoulders. I am thinking I want it up, but I like those styled where it looks almost sort of messy, yet put together. I would like it curly, yet my hair is sooo fine, it is hard to get it to hold curls.

My dress is strapless, very low cut and vanilla color.

Also my jewelry will be pearl earrings and a pearl necklace:)

Thanks in Advance for all your ideas!

you can put your hair in a bun in the back and then leave two pieces in the front. Then, curl those two pieces. Then put flowers in the bun. It will look pretty. Good luck at your wedding and congrats!!!!!!!
Have you seen photos of Katie Holmes (Mrs. Tom Cruise) lately? I won't comment on her acting, but I will say her haircut looks great. See if it might work for you too!

    Cheers!
please do not do anything before the wedding.try different ';mock'; hair styles that can make hair look shorter but do not do anything drastic.what if you do not like it? it happened to my mom and she did not feel like the prettiest bride!!!!this is not the time to expeiment.

    congrats
as a professional hair stylist myself, i would highly suggest that u wear ur hair up with some loose curls or strands here and there.

i looked up some pics for u and provided u with the link, there are some really pretty styles that would hopefully be what u were looking for in the first place.

congrats on ur wedding- and best wishes. =)
Congratulations!!! I posted a similar question a few weeks ago and got great responses!!!! I am 24. Our dresses sound very similar. I am doing a half up half down style with a veil and a tierra with curls on the top and the back straight. if you want a updo and have thin hair you can get clip on extensions for the top..you can get a half wig, or you can do something like add a ponytail onto your real hair. Im sure regardless you will look beautiful! Good Luck!

I loved these. What do you think? Congrats, BTW!
Start looking now in magazines for styles you like. My daughter wanted her hair done a very specific way for her wedding. I'm so glad that she had a trial, because after 3 tries (took 2 hours) the stylist still couldn't get it the way she wanted it (didn't help that my daughter picked 07-07-07 as the day to do her trial, the stylist had been on her feet since 6:00AM that morning and was the last appointment of the day). When she went back on the wedding day, the stylist had done a hair model's hair the way she thought that my daughter would like it and it was exactly right. My daughter looked gorgeous and the stylist was happy, too, finally having done my daughters hair the way she wanted to wear it.

lords and ladies. i saw a person there and there hair look beautiful it probably took alot of time though. but thats what i recomend.

hope i helped good luck.Do you know any good salon for doing wedding hair...I really need it...my wedding is coming up?
I am in the same situation currently. What i have found to be the best way is call some local salons. If they want your business they will do a test trial on your hair for free. I had to try out 3-4 salons before i picked one. Also if you join some bridal sites they will give you local vendors for your area.
Fiesta Hair salons are the best!!!!!!

they can do practically anything.. i go to them every three months and for special occasions.
What you need to do is go to many different salons, tell them some ideas. Have them quickly do a bunch of different styles. Bring a camera and a friend. Have your friend take pictures of each style. Think about which style you would like best. Make an appointment for that stylist on the day of your wedding.
idk where you live but if you live in naples fl then you could try sir daniels salon the min i walked i thought there was no way i could aford it but it was not that bad so

    GOOD LUCK

you could also put large curls in, part it down the middle and be 'natural'.

or wear the front part pouffy in the bangs like gwen steffani, and the back down and straight.

Scottish wedding hair ideas Please Help !!!?

Im getting married in scotland and want to have a real scottish theme. I cant find any styles that i could do my hair to go with the theme. I am wanting my hair up but maybee with some bit coming down. I also want scottish flowers in it. Anyone seen anything like this?Scottish wedding hair ideas Please Help !!!?
Yes, wearing your hair swept up, with a few locks coming down with a bit of heather or baby's breath placed here %26amp; there. But don't over do it. Or you could, have a simple but sweet wreath, that would fit in with your veil. Once again, keeping it nice and simple.Scottish wedding hair ideas Please Help !!!?
A ginger curly wig and a tartan tammy
A braid ';crown'; is a traditional hairstyle.

    Wedding hair ideas...?

I don't know why but I can't decide on a hair style for my wedding. I have long very fine hair. I know I want to wear it up. Any suggestions???? Any helpful websites? I haven't had much luck online or at the bookstore... or in magzine's for up do'sWedding hair ideas...?
Sophisticated updos are always a popular choice, with curls and twists providing a desired bridal look, especially for more formal weddings

If you have fine hair you might be able to create the updo by using a pin-on ponytail or add-on hair strands.Wedding hair ideas...?
I think that a wedding hair Idea should be some thing that has never been done before some thing exzotic but nice a the ame time
hair up, very long veil always gorgous. have it pinned up
test any look before you decide on the fianl one don't ever just do it that day.... Try leaving your hair down in soft ringlets and take half an inch sections on the sides (leave some bangs or wispy peices in the front) and twist ( gently and lossley) the sections about half way to the back of your head, secure with bobby pins and add baby's breath flowers to the sections.....
Just go with your natural look. Don't put it up if you normally don't wear it up. Be natural and just you for your big day. Congrats!
take your veil to the hairdressers and have them try a few different looks... ask them what they recomment based on your face shape and hair type.

You will have to pay... but it will really help you decided... and not have to worry you have made a wrong decision.

The best of luck on your big day!
    let it free
you should get wedding magazines to help you pick out a cute hair style. I love seeing hair up with those big curls that come down to the face, but not completely covering the whole face.
you make the decion go on
Take your headpiece into a reputable stylist and explain that you don't know what to do with it and you would appreciate if she could help you by doing a ';practice'; hair-do. It'll cost you a bit of money to go this route, but to get the look you want on your special day, it's worth it.
Simply type in ';wedding hair ideas'; in your search engine, but do not put ';.com'; at the end and tons of websites are going to pop up. Good luck!
honey remember that day you felt like you looked the best, well just go back to that day and do that hairstlye maybe a liitle different but the same, you try that and do that now
up and away from your neck. its nice to see a womans neck every once and a while.
    Try this: www.euroteezer.com.

I bought their Sassy Curlers, and they really do work like the girls you see on the web site. I LOVE them. My hair is fine too and normally won't hold a curl to save my life. But with these and some good hair gel, I get the cutest curls ever!
curly up with ringlets hanging down looks good with headpiece or viel.
Open straight hairs look soo goooood! Good luck in yr new life :) I hope U will be always happy
Make an appointment with your hair dresser. Let her know that you'd like to experiment with a few different styles. That's the best thing to do. That way you can see what looks good on you, and what doesn't.

Oh, don't forget your veil if you're wearing one.
    dont get married
It will depend on your hair length, the shape of your face (heart, oval, round, etc..) Are you wearing a veil, a tiara. What is the shape of the dress neckline. Is it outdoors wear it may have to hold up to wind and weather. etc...

Up into a french braid or twist is very traditional. I always liked just pulling it tight on the sides and top, holding in place with some antique combs (something old) and letting it drape down the back.

The best thing to do is to talk to your hairdresser. Describe the gown, the event, etc... and get suggestions from him. Let him do your hair as a test. Take some photos of the finished way you like it and take them with you to show the hair dresser on location.

    Good Luck.
you can wear it up....stretched with no curls...without hairclips, but only by hair...the knob being made by your hair ;)....
Hmmm.... are you against extensions? Thats the best way to go if you want to be elegant. They R a pretty penny but your'e worth it!!!!!!!!

Wedding hair - up or down?

I have a sleeveless dress, with the typical poofy skirt. I have an elbow-length simple veil, and have a small tiara that I'm debating on switching out for something even more simple. Would you wear your hair up or down? I thought at first I'd do up, to help elongate the way I look (I'm short), but now I'm not so sure? The one thing I do know is that I don't want it completely down and all over my face.Wedding hair - up or down?
I'm short too, (5'1) but along with that comes a short neck. For me, at least, an updo only emphasizes that fact and makes me look even more 'squat' than I am. If you look around at women with long hair, it always looks longer and makes them look 'taller' with it down. A nice style like this:

http://www.clearleadinc.com/site/images/鈥?/a> will give you a softer look, still play up your tiara nicely, and the hair will protect your back from your veil if it's the least bit scratchy.

Let's face another fact - don't you feel a little bit sexier with the feel of your hair on your bare skin......?

Good Luck with whatever you decide - I'm sure you'll be beautiful!Wedding hair - up or down?

here are just a few I kind of partial to half up half down with curls
I think it really comes down to how it looks with the dress. I think a bare neck and shoulders looks dramatic with a strapless or off-the-shoulder or narrow strap style. If you like the way you look with your hair up, I'd wear it up. How many times in your life will you wear your hair in a beautiful, glamorous up-do? It's special occasion hair for a very special occasion.
I don't think there's any way that anyone online could give you reasonable advice about this, as there is not even a picture of you or the dress. Work with a hairdresser. Or if you're low on funds, go to a local beauty school. Check out styles that go with your style dress.

And I hope you stop eating pure crisco, that stuff is all trans fat and will kill you before you marry.
You'll look taller with it up and your tiara will look spectacular as well.
I'd say up, it makes your neck look nice and elegant, and also if it is a warm day it stops your hair sticking to the back of your neck. After all, how many occasions do you get where you can wear your hair up in a really elegant style like that?
Wear it up, it is more formal. If totally cannot decide, have the front all up with some down in the back.
id say up. but make sure you go to a good hair stylist. my hair was up and by the time the reception came, my hair had fallen out.

if your really torn, maybe go half up, have your fringe and side up, and have the back down. what ever you do, make sure you have a test run, and keep the style in for as long as you can
I wanted up, but he likes it down. So going half up/half down.
Your best bet is to go to a professional stylist for a consultation. Bring your veil %26amp; tiara and show the stylist what you are wearing. Also bring in a pic of the dress. Have her style your hair DOWN with your veil %26amp; tiara on. Then style your hair UP. See what flatters you best, and what you think, and more importantly-how you FEEL! Whatever you decide, I am sure you will be a beautiful bride :-)

I also had a veil %26amp; tiara, but a very different style dress. I had my hair in an updo.
down of course women look betta with there hair down
kohistany3's got it right--95% of guys think a woman looks better with hair down. I'll bet your fiance does too. Ask him, and then ask yourself if you'll be wearing your hair for him or for you...
There are a variety of factors that effect what kind of hairstyles look best on a person. First, what shape is your face? I have a round face (same measurement long as wide) so I look better in a style that is down or has height. My MOH, however, has an oval face so everything looks good on her.

Second, how long is your hair? Is it chin-length? Shoulder length? Mid-back? How long your hair is is a major factor is what they can do with it.

Third, what kind of texture does your hair have? Is it stick straight? Curly? Wavy? Is your hair thick? Fine? All of these factors help determine what styles will look best.

Last, what kind of dress do you have? Is is very ornate with beading all over? If so, you might want to consider an up-do so your hair doesn't get caught in your dress all night.

In the end. the decision is up to you.
Do it in elegant curls with it partly pinned up. The tiara will look nice with that.
pull it up you have a sleevless dress so I would say up.
    up with a tiara.

that way you'll be able to see your face and your gorgious gown.
I am 5 3 and I am having my hair down. I have long hair to the middle of my back and by the time of my wedding next summer I will have beautiful long blond hair. Don't go to far from your natural hair style. You want to look like yourself in your wedding pictures.
I would wear it down, but with maybe the front pulled back in some nice way.

  • Wedding Hair? Tip amount?

What is the proper amount to tip the stylist doing your updo?

I have 2 appointments one for the trial and one the day of. 45 dollars for each appointment. How much should i tip the stylist?

I had my first appointment and gave her $5.

When she does it the day of the wedding should i give her more than that?Wedding Hair? Tip amount?
I don't know but don't forget to wear a button up shirt so you wont miss it up. My wife forgot to do that.Wedding Hair? Tip amount?
It's customary to tip stylists 20-25%, so you should tip her $9-12. You should only tip waiters 15-20%, so don't listen to the other posters because they must not know what is customary. Remember, your stylist is a trained professional and deserves a little more of a tip! As far as tipping her more on your wedding day, that's up to you. If the cost is the same then you can tip her the same amount.
I think $5 was much too little. This is the woman who is going to be doing your hair for one of the biggest events of your life! Giving her a big tip after she does your hair the second time will be nice but it won't be doing you any favors. After seeing that first tip, she might wonder why she should work so hard for you the second time. You should have given her the big tip at the trial.
I usually tip $10, but I have been going to my stylist for over 5 years and know her well. My hair on my wedding day took two hours!!! (long time!)....so I gave her a $20 tip. I think it depends on the time put into the up-do and how well you know your girl. Also, did she treat you nicely and with respect...and did she honor your wishes in the way she did your hair? Take that into consideration on your wedding day and tip accordingly.

    Best of luck!!
15-20% is acceptable. For $45 that would be $7 minimum. I tip 50% each time I get a haircut because my stylist works on tips and I love her to death ( = For my wedding I will be tipping 100% meaning I'll be paying her double whatever she charges me. It's a personal preference and you can tip whatever you want.
According to The Wedding Book by Mindy Weiss, you give hairstylists 15-20% of the total bill, depending on how satisfied you are. I've read in (non bridal) magazines that you're always supposed to do this when you get your hair done, just like you tip a waiter.

    Hope this helps!
I would give $10 to be a bit more generous.

I always start my 'base' tip at 20%, which is $9 for you, and I go up or down depending upon level of service or sometimes I just round so I don't have to scramble for extra bills.
generally a tip is 15-20%. When in doubt you can do $10 on an amont like that.
if you really like it and she goes a good job 15-20% if its not that great 10%

ps remember this is your special day
For a $45 hairdo, you should tip $10.
    7.00$ is almost 15% ... I think thats fair

one thing for sure - make sure you are comfortable with your hairdo. thats the most important thing. if you are not comfortable, it will ruin your mood totally. i have a long, straight hair and although some people advised me to leave some on the side and curl it, i told the makeup artist to back comb my hair so my face will look thin and people can actually see my face.

plus the location of the wedding reception too. if its held outside with the wind and all, dont bother with curls and loose hair cause its gonna stick onto your veils, your lips and such.

That way...you can work together so you know it will turn out...what you need to have changed, etc....and on the day of the wedding, you make an early appointment...take them in again and she will get you ready for the wedding....and you can relax and know it will turn out. She will know what can be done...and what to suggest.

Sometimes, brides decided to be totally different...and then have pictures, etc. and are sorry they did it...so be sure to think...';is this what I want in my wedding photos?';...really matters later!

I would say do it half up and half down. All you need to do is make very loose curls all over your hair, instead of taking half and putting it in a pony tail, you can just take the sides and have them pinned back. That way, you can hide the combs of your tiara, and when you take the tiara off for the ceremony, it should be as simple as just pulling straight up. Think beach wedding, lightly tousled hair that's been pinned back to get the hair out of your face.
TheKnot.com has a lot of ideas for the half-up hairdos. Check out this page for a list of them:

I was going to suggest a vintage style but poster ';chef'; beat me to it. And also found an excellent photo. That would be so elegant and pretty. With that type of dress, it would go perfectly.

    Black Tie Wedding--Hair in Ponytail?

I'm a guest at a black tie wedding that begins at 8pm. I'm wearing a strapless black dress, but I don't know what to do with my hair. Is it okay to wear it in a sleek ponytail? I have shoulder length hair.Black Tie Wedding--Hair in Ponytail?
I for one think a ponytail is the wrong look for a wedding, or any gown affair for that matters. I don't mind a ponytail, don't get me wrong, just think they are a bit tacky with what you are attending. I would leave your hair down, or pin it up just slightly but still keep most of the length. See some of Angelina Jolie's pictures from the Oscars, et al for examples.Black Tie Wedding--Hair in Ponytail?
A Ponytail done correctly can be very appropriate for a black tie event

Place the ponytail either on your crown or at the nape of the neck so that it does not look like you came from the gym. If you would like you can tease your crown for extra height. Then take a section of hair from the bottom of the ponytail and use it to wrap around and hide the hair band.
Either that or wear it in a bun if able to do so, The bun if possible would probably be the more fashionable.
Sure! A sleek pony can be very stylish.

    Wedding hair help! Any suggestions?

This Saturday, I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding. Just recently, I cut my hair really short (it's between shoulder and chin length now). I'm not sure what to do with it. I've tried curling it, but it's too short and just puffs up. I don't have a small enough curler to do wringlets, and the straightener doesn't do much at all. I have someone coming that morning to help me, but I need suggestions. Any ideas?Wedding hair help! Any suggestions?
There isn't really much you can do. Just straighten it, then have a side-swept fringe that sorta swishes out to the side. Or have a thin french braid across (like an alice band) and leave the rest loose. I'd strongly suggest hair accessories. A flower or clips can do wonders. It will make you look glamorous. A great idea would be a bejewelled metal alice band.

Found lots on this site too: http://www.projectwedding.com/photo/brow鈥?/a> I will continue to update as I look!Wedding hair help please?
    Well, first off, congrats!

And Secondly i think that you should look at mags sites that may have wedding dresses. Although you have to take in mind what shape of face you have and your hair texture to see if you can actually pull it off. i suggest that you go to different hair salons look through their books or even see if someone can accomplish the look that you are looking for. And always, always get a trial day. Have them do your hair the way you want it a few weeks before your date, that way you can see what it will look like. Sometimes, what you envision isn't what you get. This way you can make changes or decide if it will withstand a whole day. Trial and error, is the best way to find what you are looking for.
Ok this will sound silly but it always worked for me. For every haircut, style and updo I turn to the soap opera mags. This has worked for me for years. there is always a some one on a soap with their hair over done to go for a walk lol
The following page has a variety of hairstyles. You can upload your photo and see how you look. This might help.

Do a half up look to show off your long hair and yet dress it up at the same time. You can pin half of it up and add a little flair to it by adding some hairpins with little beads on them. For the part that is down do curls and be sure to use some hairspray that is heat activating so that it doesn't look crunchy.
keep it light....soft curls very flowy and natural

hope these links help you. the last one is a do it yourself one. good luck and congrats
A nice french roll with curls pinned up in the front and maybe a strand of hair on your face...

I expecially like Tristas (the first pict)I need pictures of half-up wedding hair!?
This is what I always do:

    go to www.altavista.com

Click on ';images'; (it is right above where you type in your search)

You could type in ';half up-do'; or something like that

Then the search will bring up TONS of pictures that match the search. Its easy because it brings up pictures from all different websites...and if you see one you like, you just click on the photo and it takes you to the website that the picture is from. Its easier because it consolidates... no one wants to go to 500 wedding websites just to find a hair style. You'll get a ton of results, but if you get tired of looking, just minimize it and go back later.

This way you will also see pictures that arent JUST from weddings...I think my hair style came from a prom website actually...

    Good luck!

    50's long wedding hair?

I am 49 and have waist length hair and would like to wear it in a 50's style for my rock n roll themed wedding next April but can not find any sites on the net with styles that long to show the hairdresser. I do not want to get it cut. and would like a semi updo style.

I would like to be able to see it on me as a virtual make over but all the sites I've found want money to do the virtual thing.

    Any suggestions?

I am only on a pension so can't afford to have it done before by hairdresser to see if it suits me etc. and have no one that has the knowledge to do it beforehand.

I can only afford the one time so want a picture to show hairdresser50's long wedding hair?
You may want to look up ';rockabilly hair';. This site http://www.rockabillyhairstyle.com/ explains how to do the hairdos, other sites have lots of pictures. I agree with the person who suggested looking for pictures of celebrities. Of course *I* can't think of any 50s female rock singers (the only 2 I can think of aren't rock: Patsy Cline and June Carter), but there were many film stars and models (such as Bettie Paige) who had 50s hair. Google's image search is a good place to look.

You're going to have to shop around for a hairdresser that knows how to do pin curls. You're also going to have to have your hair set a day ahead of time, because the curls are set wet and then styled once they're dry, which is sometimes a day later. Finally, I understand than some hairdressers charge for the initial consultation/trying out the hairdo but the expense is a downpayment on the work done the day of the wedding, i.e. you're not spending anything extra to do a trial run. Of course you're going to have to check with your hairdresser. Finally while some 50s looks can be done with hot rollers or curling irons, only pin curls will create a style that lasts all day (in my experience).50's long wedding hair?
I suggest you use the internet to look for publicity photographs of female Hollywood film stars of the era. You could also have a look in old family photograph albums (They don't have to be your albums, anyones will do.)

I hope that helps, and good luck for April next.
1950's hair style was either in a pony-tail or to the extreme of a beehive. Do some searching online to see if you can come-up with some photos. Right now the trend of today is in 1960, so any hair dresser that has been around for a while should be able to come up with a 1950 hairstyle for you.

You can also rent some movies from the 1950's as there should be plenty of hairdo's for you to look at.

    Wedding Hair Do?

I need to find a style to do for my wedding. I want the back of my dress to show. It is a halter top that ties up. My wedding is going to be beach themed with a luau for the reception.

    any ideas?Wedding Hair Do?
I think that a very soft updo would look great! Since your dress is a halter, it would accentuate your shoulders and neck. Maybe something kind of loose, with tendrils around your face, and flowing down from the crown of your head? Just an idea. I think it would be beautiful.Wedding Hair Do?
I would go with and updo(something frenchtwist like with curls on top). This makes it easy to add flowers(go with your theme) or crystals, or whatever. keep looking in bridal mag's until you find what is perfect.
Try a bun near the top of your head with some curls hanging down. its a great hair style, and goes great with a halter dress, plus, goes with the beach theme.

I am wearing a tiara and a vile , spelling may be off.I need wedding hair help plz help me?
I like number 1, with a little bump (volume) in the front which would help contrast the tiara to the height of your hair, and your veil would go right under the buttom of the hairstyle. It would look really nice. I am getting married next summer and that is the style I am shooting for. But go with your gut instinct. Do what you like, for instance if you like your hair down, number 2 might fit your style better. Where I like my hair up and big so I like number 1. Try asking your stylist, she could give you the best advice as to what suits your face shape, and what would fit well with the tiara and veil you have chosen. Hope that helps.I need wedding hair help plz help me?
Style number 2 would look preety and its loose so you wont be getting a headace from the hair.

Best wishes to you and your groom
I like hair style number 2. It shows a bit of class, but also presents a fun side to you.

I suggest using Head and Shoulders shampoo to bring out the beauty in your hair style and moisturizing your hair and scalp at the same time.

I would say no to the tiara though. I know a bride wants their wedding to be the best day of their lives, sorry, but that kind of tiara would only work for princess diane. I suggest wearing the kind of tiaras that wear like a headband.

    For example: http://www.jewelrybylisamarie.com/beaded…

I hope you have a great wedding and that your look and your wedding will go as planned.
ok.. i just got married to.. so i know.. it's a pain.. but.. dont go with any up ones.. my mom had that and she said it really hurts after like 30 minutes and it will bug u.. i suggest #2.. because it wont bug you.. and no matter what the theme is for your wedding.. it will fit.. oh.. and when your dancing,, you wont have to worry about your hair getting messed .. up.. hope i have helped.. and congrats...
    # 3 i dont like. # 2 is my fave and it would gr8 with a tiara. if i were u i would cut the vail. #1 %26amp;4 are ok.

I would do # 2 because its cute and casual.

    congrats on your wedding!
I love hairstyle 2. It would look great on a bride :)
I like the 2nd one. I think hair down looks gorgeous on your wedding day.
    oooo #2! #2!

well...it looks both the easiest to make and also very elegant
You need to do a trail run with a stylist. Bring her a pic of your dress. Your dress is the most important thing to consider when trying to determine whether to decide up or down with your hair. Wearing your hair down could take away from the details of the back of the dress. However, if your dress is simple and elegant your hair can be the focus. Defiantly do a practice run so you can see the whole thing before the wedding. You will know then which one you like.

If your hair is hurting after a few minutes of being up ...get a new hair stylist! That should never happen and that is the first time I have ever heard that!
i like the fourth one it looks gorgeous and i think it would suit just about everyone

    Wedding Hair advice!!?

I am getting married next weekend. I am planning on wearing my hair in a low bun. I have a headband with swarovski crystals on it that I feel I really should wear because my mom bought it for me. I wanted to add a few flowers to one side of my bun, but I don't want to have too much in my hair. Any opinions on this?Wedding Hair advice!!?
As long as the flowers are on the smaller side, it shouldn't be too overbearing. And not loaded with them, just a few lining the edge of the bun, I think that would be fine. Obviously I wouldn't use really huge flowers or anything, lol... that would be overboard.

Otherwise, if you're still in doubt, go to where you are having your hair done and ask your stylist what she/he thinks. (that is, if you ARE going to have it done somewhere...)

    Good luck!Wedding Hair advice!!?
I think it would look cute. Just don't have HUGE flowers. :]

You'll want your hair accessories about the same size so that one isn't taking over one another. Also, don't put too many. Maybe one or two will be good, depending on the size. Hope this helps!

Help, I need a wedding hair style?

do you have any images of wedding hair style or Updos for long hair?Help, I need a wedding hair style?
    www.bellaonline.com %26gt; beauty%26amp;self %26gt; hair %26gt; updos%26amp;weddingHelp, I need a wedding hair style?
Definitely buy a bridal magazine or a hairstyle magazine, because these usually show images from two+ perspectives, and they're in a much higher resolution than online pictures, making it easier for your stylist.

HOWEVER, TheKnot.com has a good gallery of bridal hairstyles, I will link to it below.
U CAN GO TO PROM-SPOT.COM WHERE U CAN FIND A HUGE COLLECTION OF HAIRDOS....WHICH IS NOT APLICABLE IN PARTIES BUT THE HAIRDOS WIL LOOK GREAT ON A BRIDE AND IM SURE U WILL NOT LOOK UPTO ANY OTHER SITE AFTER REFERRING TO THIS ONE......SO GO N GIVE UR HAIR A STYLISH DO SO THAT UR GROOM WILL LOOK ONLY AT UR HAIR NOT TO U..OOPS DID I SAY SUMTHING

    REGARDS

    MINI
there're many sites 4 wedding hairstyles.
I agree that you should definitely choose a style that suits you rather than something very weddingy, but there are some up-does on the below website.

I had short hair when I got married and just bought a funky feathery hairband from Monsoon (link below) which was very me. Don't let people what you need or can't do when it comes to your wedding. It's your and your husband's day. Enjoy!
When I got married 8 months ago, I went to a stylist who specialized in hair for weddings. He said your hair style depends on your dress. If you have a very ornate gown, your hair should be simple as to not overtake the dress. If you wear a simple dress, your hair should be more ornate. Basically, it's all about balancing so people focus on YOU and not solely your hair or the dress. He insisted on styling my hair up and away from my face - said that it wouldn't be any trouble to me during the entire event, it wouldn't get in my way - plus, wearing the hair up is so elegant - it's perfect for a wedding look; provides an almost baby facelift because it pulls the face upward and defines it.
as i dnt no how u luk like so it's bttr whtevr suits u do it in tht way.

    Beach wedding hair. ?

I am getting married in July at Cozumel Mexico. I think I want to wear my hair mostly down and maybe a flower in it. If anyone has examples of how they did or something they've seen I would love to see it. Thanks!Beach wedding hair. ?

    http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k277/b鈥?/a>Beach wedding hair. ?
july one the beach in mexico huh. You better plan for hot, humid, and possibly windy. Your choice to have it mostly down will probably look nice for pictures, and if you make sure it is really moisturized (deep condition ahead of time) and just scrunch some waves into your hair when it is damp it should hold up pretty good in the humidity. I would just pull back the hair from around your face and maybe give it a little puff on top, depending on if you will be wearing any sort of veil. For a flower I would suggest finding a native flower that will hold up better in the heat. You still might have to put it in last minute. You might want to consider using one of the more realistic looking fake flowers instead, especially if you want it to hold up through the ceremony, pictures, and reception without looking all wilted. Looks like several people have already posted some good links so I'm not going to, but I hope this helps you anyway. Congratz on your big day. I hope the years following it are just as happy and special for you....and less stressful :)

    Short Wedding Hair Help?

My hair is just even with my shoulders, which i think is still a tad too short for a good updo. Does anyone have any good pictures of wedding hair with short or medium length hair?Short Wedding Hair Help?
If you have a stylist that you like, ask her about an updo. My hair was only about shoulder length for my wedding and my stylist was able to do a beautiful updo. It required what seemed like a hundred bobby pins to do, but I loved it!Short Wedding Hair Help?
I was considering cutting my hair reallyyyyyyyyy short... I love that style but I know I'll totally regret it come wedding time. Mine is now a couple inches shorter than my shoulders. I'm getting extensions put in (not cheap ones that look stringy or just TOO fake) which will give my hair a little more length and fullness.

I'm wearing my hair down though, in romantic waves.

    Wedding Hair Question?

I don't know what to do with my hair on my wedding day. I am getting married on top of the effiel tower in Las Vegas so I think it may be a little windy. (no veil) My wedding is at 9:30 in the morning. I live in Canada and can not meet with my hair hairdresser until the morning of the wedding. I don't want a teirra but I want something nice. I really don't know what to do..my hair is just below my chin. Any suggestion will help.Wedding Hair Question?
If you are on top of the effiel tower it is going to be a whole lot of windy.

I would do something in a half-up half down style. Pretty loose and already a little ';messy'; and not completely sleek. You need it pulled back simply because all down will have hair blowing all in your face and probably a few elegant photos of you spitting strands from your mouth as you say your vows. I full blown updo would look great but they always have to be so ';perfect'; so unless you want helmet hair and a can of hairspray in it the wind is going to mess it up bobby pins or not.Wedding Hair Question?
I see you said you don't want a tiara, but what about a pretty headband? They have some that are elegant or whimsical or just about any style. You could also put some little pretty flowers in your hair.
I agree with the gal above who said to wear it in an updo, nice and tight with lots of pins so that it's not flying all over the place. I think you could pull off a really elegant ';Audrey Hepburn'; kind of updo. A really high, full bun!

    Good luck %26amp; congratulations!

I live in Canada as well and we're getting married in the Caribbean in February!
get in touch with the tower people and find out the wind speed. you may need to glue that head of hair down. however, if you wear it down the wind can't undo all you have done to prepare. it'll look fine.
you should definitely wear it up. and pick something simple so you know it will be done well since you cannot have a run through.

Go to a Salon and have trial up-dos done to see what you feel comfortable with. I would recommend your hair up, but soft and loosely curled. Kind of cascading a little down the back of your head. This will look soft and appealing with a necklace or choker of pearls or rhinestones. If not loose do the total opposite and make it slick and a low ponytail with crisp big curls at the nape of your neck. Make it look like there is not really a ponytail holding it. The curls should not touch you back. And add a bit of flair and add hair accessories to the back within the crisp curls. In the end, do a trial up-do to see what works best.I need help choosing a wedding hair style. I will be wearing a strapless, mermaid wedding dress. Help!!?
wear it up in a side bun with side bangs!it will show off the dress and still look very cute!maybe even do one little ringlet on the side of your face to give it that special look!
Well it depends on a few things. Will you be wearing a tiara, a veil, do you have long or short hair? Do you normally wear your hair a certain way?

When I first read your question, I immediately pictured a half up half down hair style with curls in the back. I found a picture of what I had in mind. It's the last picture at this link. (she's got long black hair)

    http://www.beautifulhairstyles.com/weddi鈥?/a>
chinon with your veil attached (if you are wearing a veil). try to keep it off your neck so the dress can be admired and not off set by the hair
Congratulations. Keep the hairstyle simple. Ornate hair-dos look strange in the photos years later. Since the dress is strapless, it is likely you can wear your hair down without interferring with the special features of the dress. Look at the models in the bridal magazines and find one with a strapless dress and hair up/down to get an idea.
I would defenitly go with curls. Is your hair long? If so, big curls. Short? Little curls. With little barettes that have ';diamonds'; (or fake ones) onit. U will look FABULOUS! Congratulations!!! :)
try a chignon they sound funny but look gorgeous
wear it up with a curly bun, attatch the vail with a crown wala!!!
You should wear it up so that all of the details of the dress can be seen and the hair won't be distracting to the dress
do with something that is best on you.... does your hair look better up or down? straight or curly? this is your wedding you want to look your best go with what looks best on you. I think something sleek and sophisticated would look great with the dress and you wouldnt have to worry about it getting in your face or have to fuss with it during the wedding or reception and should be very easy to take down afterwards, remember the stylist doesnt include dehairdressing for you...lol...I suggest trying different hair styles before the wedding so you can choose and have the one you love the best done the day of the wedding. Its your day and you want to remember yourself looking more beautiful then you have every looked before.

Wedding hair. what do you prefer?

    down styles, half-up, or all-up.

what did you have for your wedding? (or do you want for your wedding)

what type of veil did you have (or do you want or have for your wedding)

please %26amp; thank you!Wedding hair. what do you prefer?
I had a really hard time deciding what to do with my hair as well. But, I finally decided that on the day of my wedding, I wanted to look like me.

But the bottom line is wear your hair in a way that looks best on you. Only you know your hair and can determine which way it should be worn.

I am wearing my hair down in big romantic curls. My hair is very full and a little longer than shoulder length. After going to several wedding day hair stylists, I have decided to do my own hair. I was so sick of the so called stylists wanting to fill my head with fake hair and I just can't stand the idea of a hairstyle that is not me. Whatever you decide to do, have fun wih it and good luck!Wedding hair. what do you prefer?
In my opinion, this will all have to depend on the style of dresses you have picked out for yourself and/or bridesmaids. Experiment with different hairstyles and see what you like best; and if you're planning how your bridesmaids are going to look, then maybe plan a day when you have them all together and you all give each other opinions on hair-dos. I agree with the girl that said if you have a strapless to have your hair either down, or half up/half down and if you have a halter dress pull all your hair up and see what you can do with a ';half bun'; where you wrap your hair in to a bun but leave some down to be curled. As far as the veil is concerned, look at how ';the professionals'; have theirs done, according to dress and hairstyles. I hope this helps you! =]
I have always said that I will not wear my hair up at my wedding. It's not that I don't like all-up wedding hairstyles, but I'm just not comfortable with my hair up because I'm used to wearing it down. That said, I plan on wearing my hair down and curled. My hair's naturally wavy, so if I leave it down then it will hold the curl and I'll be comfortable. Plus... it saves me from trying to get all the hairspray and bobby pins out of it later on. :)
I think updos are pretty, but when you've seen a million curly updos with those little crown things, it gets old. However, I do think that most of the time, your hair should be off your dress, so if your hair is long, wear it mostly or all up.

My hair was down. My hair is cut in a chin-length bob, so there's not really many ways it can go up. The stylist just fluffed it and gave it more volume.

My veil was a single-layer veil that went down to my rear, slightly scalloped on the edges, with beading. I didn't want a ';poofy'; veil, so I went with single layer.
Hello I am a wedding consultant and more and more I am seeing that the trend in hair is becoming half up with curls and a poof at the crown. Most ladies choose a veil that covers only the back of their head and using a teira as the headpiece. Although I have seen some ladies use an almost 20's era headpiece and veil. I have pictures if you would like me to email them to you please feel free to let me know.

I have just hosted a Fashion show and have all of the trends for 2009 weddings. Feel free to email me at whitneymcclure404@gmail.com
I don't think it Necessarily depends on the dress its more about the syle of the wedding and the style that the bride prefers, I am wearing a strapless dress with my hair up with curls cascading down but the theme of my wedding is old world romance so that influenced that as well so its really what you prefer and what looks good on you :)
Im going to have mine all up and curly and i have a full veil to cover my face and my hair until its flipped back. I chose this because i know im going to be dancing and stuff and id rather not have my hair in my face.
if ur doing a strapless dress it should be down or half up half down thats my hair is goin to be

if ur wearing straps or halter then up must be up to show of ur neck

strapless- nice medium to long veil strap or halter small to medium mines is long
    half-up
I would do a curly bun like a twisty cute bun and like a waist long veil that matches ur dress hope this helps best wishes 4 u
depends on your hair type and how you look to make it look the best on your wedding day.
I really think it depends on the headpiece. I like up-do's or half-up do's with some cascading curls. I wore a french twist under my wedding hat.

It took me forever to find a hairstyle that I liked. I searched for months and months. I have long hair and I wanted to try to do it half up, but I almost always wear it down. I went to my trial - she tried doing it half up; I hated it - not because it was anything she did wrong, but because it just wasn't me. In the end I decided to leave it all down. Here is the picture that helped me out.

    Good luck!Wedding hair ideas?
Fall season is nice time for long flowing tresses. However, you didn't mention about your wedding theme and wedding location (for example is it outdoor or indoor?). Also the description of your wedding gown is brief, so it will be difficult to make suggestions.

Your wedding theme will give you an idea of the color, texture and what sort of hair accessories to match with your themed wedding gown and the rest of your wedding items.

You can start by looking at wedding magazines and hairstyle fashion magazines for long hair styling ideas. Do you like to adorn your hair with flowers or accessories like tiara, gemstone hairpins etc? How does the overlook like? Try doing various styles and have your pictures taken. Lay out all the pictures you have taken with various styles and make a decision. You will be surprise how different you look on pictures.

Do choose a hairstyle that will match your personality, wedding theme and wedding gown. Once you have decided on that style practice it a few times before your wedding day with your sister. It will definitely bring out that special ';shine'; in you on your wedding day!

    Congratulations!
Are you wearing a veil? If so, describe it? You're veil plays a big part in you're hairstyle.

    http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip3501鈥?/a>

Ok well, since you are asking about hair accents than I am assuming there is no veil. Try this link. It has pictures and instructions on how to do it. It is a half updo with a pearl comb accenting it but you can try to find a comb with fall leaves, flowers or just fall colors. Congratulations and best wishes :0)
You lucky girl with long hair and patience to grow it so long! What I would do is leave it long, pull the sides up into a sort of half ponytail, and curl it all. You can twist in small flowers, pins, clips, anything you see that catches your eye. A good idea is to have a hair trial, where you book an afternoon with a stylist and have her try out different ideas until you've got it perfect. Good luck!
Make sure to go for a trial or just play around with your friends so you have an idea of what you like.

You could go with more deeper autumn colors like rustic orange and greens for your bouquet and have one flower in your hair or something.

Just remember that if you're wearing a halter then don't overshadow the look by having too much hair around your face and make sure most is swept back with some flowing. This way it won't look heavy and your face will show for pictures.

    All the best :)
Do you have a hairdresser that you can trust and like? Make a consultation appointment - most hairdressers will spend time with you experimenting and giving you ideas. Call her and ask for a bridal consultation.

    Wedding hair styles?

I am getting married in 4 weeks and still don't know what to do with my hair. I have long naturally wavy hair. I am wearing a strapless dress. Can anyone give me some links to good websites I can look at? I won't get a chance to do a hair trial since we are getting married at my parents place 12 hours drive away.Wedding hair styles?
There are a lot of good websites I could give you but first off how do you want your hair at all. Do you want it up or halfway up or down? I like to have hair up (it looks great with strapless dresses) but also because it stays out of your face for the wedding and reception. If you wanted to you could do a hair trail with a different person before you travel if you want to just see what it would look like on you. I knew exactly what I wanted my hair to look like but it can be a tough decision. I had a hard time finding my hair style online. Anyways, write on the detailed description and I will check back and write again or you can email me on the yahoo answers.

I hope this website helps you out with some hairstyles. Four weeks is a short but long time. Just be patient and it will come to you. I hope this helps you out. If you have any other questions you can email me (it is under my username)

Congratulations and good luck with everything. For my bridesmaids they all wore their hair halfway up and halfway down. They just put it up and curled it all if you just want to do that.Wedding hair styles?
google. Its the best way to see multiple hairstyles at once
Leave it long with loose curls, since you are having a strapless dress. Depends, though, on your hairpiece and/or veil...

no matter what i would say wear ur hair up not down bcuz with a stapless dress it makes ur neck look long which makes u look leaner and taller!!! i would also say u tight curls bcuz its ur wedding day and u should dress up and u wont have tight curls everyday!

    congrats!
Here is the website to the salon that is doing my hair. The first site has a lot of good before and after pictures. Enjoy! and Congratulations!

I too also have long, naturally wavy hair. I am going to wear my hair half up and half down. I have a sleeveless dress. For a strapless dress, hair all up would look good. Actually, anyway you want looks good. I also took into account the way my fiance likes my hair styled, which is down. My hair is really thick too, so at least half up, it won't bother me so much and it will still be down for him. HTH!

    Wedding hair extensions?

I want long (and thicker) hair for my wedding but when I look it up online I just keep going around in circles. I want to know how various people/companies put them in, how long they last, how much maintenance will be needed, and price lists so I can compare. Oh yeah, and acrylic hair is out of the question. Can any hair stylists help???Wedding hair extensions?
you can get it bonded, fused, or sewn in ( I don't think you want braids for your wedding, but also another form to apply extensions). bonding is cheaper however, it could take your hair out when you start to remove the extensions. Fusion cost a lot $400 but they look nicer. If you properly take care of it they can last from four to six weeks. Sew ins are nice too just get some one to take it out for you because you don't want to cut your hair. Maintenance is daily unless you get a updo!Wedding hair extensions?
    dont do long hair
I want to a store bought my own and had a hair styles put it in but it only as long I didn't take a shower.....so I wore a bath cap for a lil' but she basically wrapped them into my hair

Looking for wedding hair style looks?

i am looking for styles for 1/2 up 1/2 down hair styles for my wedding next week, and i wanted to know if anyone can suggest a great site to search aroung , ';besides just a google search'; and or even some pictures ';which would help a bunch';Looking for wedding hair style looks?
you can divide your hair half up and half down, put twists in the front part, and leave a string of hair on each side of your face...and then curl the strings of hair and curl the rest of the hair in back. I did that for my wedding last Saturday and it came out great.Looking for wedding hair style looks?
There is a site I found where you can view with animation how different hairstyles or updos would look with different face shapes and hair colors. You can also match it with celebrity hairstyles. This might be something useful for you.

Is there any way that they can pull it all back then put a hair piece on the top? If they really secure the hair back and put in one of those real hair pieces on the top of your head it would look nice with a tiara and veil...Have no IDEA what to do for my wedding hair do?
Well before the wedding, make an appointment with a hairstylist to experiment. It'll be worth you time and money not to have to worry about it. Be sure that you bring your headpiece and veil if you're wearing one.

The suggestion to Google Wedding hairstyles is a good one as well.
You could use something to help keep your hair in place e.g. a large flower, it adds elegance to the updo

or because its your big day, its inprtant to look ur best, if you would consider getting hair extensions, you could achieve any look, exspensive but worth it

They have hairstyle sections you can look at.
If you want it up then you are going to have to get extensions. How about wearing it straight with a pretty rhinestone headband?
I am in the same boat. Halter dress, I want to wear hair down, but an up do would be elegant... google some styles and hopefully you will get creative
Why not get really good extensions?

I am in a wedding this upcoming Saturday and need help with a hair-do! Something simple would be nice...I'm terrible at styling my hair. Pictures included would be helpful! Thanks so much!Simple wedding hair-do for a bridesmaid?
straight hair with semi curled tips always looks nice =DSimple wedding hair-do for a bridesmaid?
just try to curl it a little. try half up or half down. but definetly curl it or wave it that would be pretty. but straighten it if you have naturally curly or wavy hair. sorry i dont have any pics. just try to experiment ahead of time the best you can and see what you like. you can also go on google and do some research. good luck!

CheersKnow any websites for wedding hair?
did you try searching formal hair, prom hair? that might give you more results. sometimes wedding hair gets put under the formal category.

also, i would check theknot.com and see what other brides used for their hair styles, lots of pictures there.Know any websites for wedding hair?
I had the same problem when searching for photos on the intenet. Seems like most sites want you to pay. Just google ';prom hairstyles'; ';updos'; etc. and click on everything that comes up. There are a few out there. I ended up finding my hairstyle in a magazine though that I saw in a supermarket.
Try these, i know there are loads but spent a day going thro them all

    They have great examples!
try a search engine under wedding arrangements, or you can look in yellow pages or Thomson directory
I recommend looking to celebrities. I was very no traditional with my wedding hair. I hated all of the up-dos and found them very prom-ish!! What I did was search specific celebrities I thought has great style similar to mine for example I googled Eva Longoria, Jessica Alba, Nicole Richie, Rhianna, to name a few. Then I also hit the magazine isle at my local grocery store and bought those silly hairstyle magazines with celebs in them %26amp; ended up using one as a sample of what I wanted %26amp; another for my bridesmaids. It worked out fabulous!!! Good Luck!!
I think the prettiest hairstyles are those that suit each individual. each person would feel more comfortable wearing thier hair the way they like. flowers would be pretty just a few of them placed in the hair.
Why would hair want to get married..........?
